Seat Ibiza review and pictures – Cornwall Live

This is a big step forward for the Seat Ibiza.

It’s a bit of a legendary car in its own right now – having been around for more than 30 years.

And, whereas before you might have seen it as a budget alternative to its VW Polo sibling, this latest generation sees a step-change in quality.

At first glance the looks haven’t changed massively, but it does look a bit sharper – like a scaled-down Leon.

Moreover, it looks better in five-door guise than it did before. The previous model looked a bit awkward with back doors, with the three-door looking sleeker, but this one is nice.

Seat Ibiza

Base ‘S’ spec gets you 15in wheels, a basic touch screen media system, Bluetooth, air con, electric front windows, auto lights, hill hold control and safety gear.

That’s not a bad sheet for a little over £13k, though you’d imagine most would shell out a bit more for ‘SE’ trim, which adds alloys, a colour touch screen and leather trim.

The Ibiza really comes into its own, though in ‘FR’ and ‘Xcellence’ specs.

These are the ones where you can really see and feel the Spanish flair come to the fore.

So FR – the sporty one – gets 17in alloys, exclusive rear bumpers, twin exhaust pipes, tinted rear windows, the top-end media system, sat nav, smartphone interfaces, digital radio, four different drive modes (eco, sport, comfort and individual), sports seats, sports suspension, rain-sensing wipers and cruise control.

Seat Ibiza

Xcellence gets similar spec, albeit it’s more luxury touches than sporty ones.

It includes a front centre arm rest, dual-zone climate control, rear electric windows, keyless entry and start, parking sensors all round and a rear view camera.

It’s the spec that we drove and it really shows that the Ibiza has improved a lot in just a few years.

It doesn’t feel like a cheap and cheerful second car anymore, it feels like a quality first car.

Engine-wise there’s only one and it’s a 1.0 petrol in three variants – either a non-turbo75ps, or turbo 95ps and 115ps. There is an exception – a 1.5 TSI is coming for the sporty FR soon, with 150ps.

The version we tried – the 95ps – was lively and thrummy, though ran out of puff a bit at times, requiring a downshift or two.

Go for the 115ps if you possibly can – the 1.2TSI fitted to the last gen Ibiza generally performs better, the only variant of the new engine to match it is the 115ps, which gets to 62mph in a tidy 9.3 seconds.

Economy is very good though, easily in the high 40s or into the 50s in everyday driving.

That’s not far off the on-paper figures of around 60mpg. CO2 is between 106 and 112g/km.

It’s a sharper drive too, it handles well and feels more connected than the last generation car.

Where it is streets ahead is inside – the interior is much smarter than before; materials feel higher quality and the look and feel is much better.

Seat Ibiza

It feels like more than a budget alternative now.

The touch screen system – Seat now gets VW’s latest – does everything, is easy to use and is attractive to look at.

You also get reasonable rear legroom and an accommodating boot.

Prices range from £13,130 to £17,310 – and there are always tempting finance deals on offer.

The pics which prove Ibiza summer 2017 was the CRAZIEST season ever – Daily Star

Ibiza has seen a surge of wildness this summer – but apparently it could get even more wilder.

Louis Jenkins, founder of Pacem Versa, told us: “It will surely get wilder next week as the island experiences its last surge of the summer.”

But don’t worry if you think Ibiza summer 2017 is over.

He added: “Villa parties are still happening, [winter] is not as dead as everyone thinks.

“I love the winter just as much as summer.”

Money” in Las Vegas last month – and has wasted no time in splashing that on his trip to Ibiza.

The UFC star lost in the ten-round thriller at the T-Mobile Arena… but appears to be in fine spirits while away on holiday.

Alongside girlfriend Dee Devlin, son Conor Jnr and sister Aoife, McGregor poked fun at himself for putting on a little weight, which he’s hilariously dubbed a “wealth belly”.

Taking to Instagram, the Irish star posted an image of him sitting with his shirt unbuttoned, surrounded by empty plates, with Devlin rubbing his stomach.

He brilliantly captioned it: “You need to get yourself a wealth belly, kid. It’s the new six pack.”

It’s easy to see why McGregor may feel like he’s put on a few pounds, as he’s posted a host of pictures of his meals during the trip.

Meanwhile, his sister posted a snap of the family eating breakfast on social media, with the table completely covered in sausages, bacon, bread and jams.

Despite taking some well-deserved time away from sport, there’s already talk of him getting back in the Octagon.

The potential Paulie Malignaggi has offered to take on McGregor in the boxing ring, after their famous fall-out during sparring ahead of the Mayweather fight.
