6 Ibiza closing parties you shouldn’t miss in 2017 – Evening Standard

Many go with the intent to conquer, yet very few succeed. Ibiza has taken the world by storm since the early Nineties, when the emergence of house music brought tourism from near and far. The Balearic Island has resonated with partygoers and clubbing enthusiasts ever since.

As September falls upon the White Isle the tourism begins to pick up and the clubs open their doors for their last parties of the season. Here are the closing parties that must not be missed if you’re heading to Ibiza this autumn.

Hï Ibiza

As of last year one of the most recognised clubs in the world closed its doors for the last time. Space was headed by Pepe Rosello, a major influence in Ibiza’s music scene. Once Space closed, the venue went under a transformation. The outcome – a new club called Hï Ibiza. Having faced a great deal of critics in the run up to opening, Hï has proved its worth, playing host to sell-out events such as Glitterbox and Black Coffee. You’d be foolish to miss the first ever closing party for the new club on the block.

Sunday 8th October 2017, Tickets from €60, Platja d’en Bossa, 07817 Sant Josep de sa Talaia, Ibiza

Always a favourite with the tourists, Amnesia has been ‘making history since 1974’. This will be Amnesia’s 43rd closing party to date, and while the line-up has only been partially released, the bar has already been set high with the likes of Eats Everything and Hector Couto gracing the DJ booth. This is set to be the party of the year.

Saturday 14th October 2017, Tickets from €40, Carretera Ibiza a San Antonio Km5, San Rafael, Ibiza

Ocean Beach Club Ibiza

Known for its extravagant price list and exclusive guest list, Ocean is a guilty pleasure for most of the Island’s visitors. With Wayne Lineker as the manager, celebrities flock from all around the world to grace its infamous pool parties. Only last week MMA star Conor McGregor was spotted pool side at the beach club. It is recommended to invest in a bed, this avoids queues and provides a base for the day-long party. Special birthday bookings are also available.

Friday 6th October 2017, Tickets from €25 or beds from €1,350, 12 – 14 Carrer Des Moli, San Antonio, 07820, Ibiza

Up-and-coming in Ibiza, Sankeys has recently evolved to become one of the public’s favourites in Ibiza. After Abode landed a residency at the venue starting last May, the club has grown in popularity. With Warriors hosting the Sankeys closing party the line-up is set to be more epic than ever. Past appearances include Darius Syrossian, Route 94 and Steve Lawler. Though the set times are yet to be released, it looks promising.

Wednesday 4th October 2017, Tickets from €29, Carrer de les Alzines, 07800 Eivissa, Ibiza

The biggest club in the world is an impeccable venue with an iconic past. Privilege has a swimming pool in its centre and provides a clubbing experience which will alter your party perspective. With a capacity of 10,000, this super club from the Seventies will close the 2017 season with a bang. The closing party offers an alternative to the conventional house music, with a unique blend of hip hop, reggae and trap.

Arguably the biggest pool party on the Island belongs to Ushuaia, where there’s always an electric atmosphere. As the sun sets behind the partygoers, the stage is transformed into a temple of colour and light. The world famous artists then take to the stage to perform live for the crowds of people congregated at their feet. This year’s lineup is sure to be a show that you won’t want to miss.
